eHealth Evaluation Tool
Instructions:
This eHealth Evaluation tool contains following seven major categories
of questions to evaluate eHealth program:
1. Health Outcomes:
Health outcomes measures change in the health status of a patient or community
on the basis of change in disease or health status, impact on quality of life
and change in health indicators
2. Technology Outcomes:
Technology refers to the software, hardware, and connectivity infrastructure
used to implement and sustain any eHealth solution.
3. Economic Outcomes: The
extent to which a health service is affordable, as measured by its cost
relative to the amount that the user (patient, family member, clinician) is
able or willing to pay for it. This category also evaluates costs and benefits
for the health system.
4. Readiness and Change
Management Outcomes: eHealth readiness refers to the preparedness of
health-care institutions to implement programs that involve use of ICT in
provision and management of health services.
5. Social and Cultural
Outcomes: Social and Cultural evaluation includes the process of analyzing,
monitoring and managing intended and unintended social consequences of planned
interventions, and any social/cultural change processes invoked by it.
6. Ethical Outcomes:
Ethics address the moral and ethical issues arising from clinical practice,
medical and biomedical research, resource allocation, use and access to
technology solutions.
7. Policy Outcomes: ‘A
set of statements, directives, regulations, laws, and judicial interpretations
that direct and manage the life cycle of eHealth’ (Scott RE).
Please note that for evaluating your project, you should fill out answer
questions in your current and all the previous stages for each category. We
thank you for your time and intellectual contribution in providing this
valuable information.
